Those, who like not too salty or spicy food, might enjoy half-pickled cucumbers. Unfortunately, one cannot enjoy them all year long, since it's a seasonal product made only from the most fresh cucumbers. A cucumber is regarded as being half-pickled after 24 hours of pickling. If it stands for one week more then it will become a pickle. After 24 hours half-pickled cucumbers are transported to supermarkets and put on sale. And be sure to get them, as they are quite popular!
There are many recipes of dishes with half-pickled cucumbers, and we are sure somebody from your family knows at least one. But there is always a risk of not preparing the dish...and just eating the cucumbers the way they are.
